01.

Literacy – Education for all

This partnership with the government aims to transform the current education system at various levels, from primary School through to tertiary levels, with support from volunteers utilizing additional infrastructure, such as technologically advanced learning aids, to enhance the learners’ experience and quality of education. This unlocks the children’s full potential and culminates in improved academic performance, which subsequently translates into a more educated citizenry and ultimately a better world.

This program is also inclined towards entrepreneurship and is structured to change the behavioral patterns and attitudes of the trainees to those of a winner, inculcating Christian values and virtues such as self-control, discipline, accountability, and perseverance as a platform for success.

Education Award

Zamaritan offers two awards to students and non-student as an incentive for volunteering. The awards are designed to help stimulate engagement through volunteerism. Educational awards are granted based on the stipulated hours completed. When a student begins volunteering, they log their hours and day of service on a sheet of paper, which is filed monthly. At the completion of 700 hours, the award is issued. The award, in the form of a check, is written to the student’s institution of choice upon completion of their tenure or upon graduation from high school.

TIONGE EDUCATION AWARD is a post-service benefit award granted to high school students who complete 1200 volunteer hours, a term of service in an approved Zamaritan program. A Zamaritan member serving in a full-time term of service is required to complete the service within 2 years. Upon successful completion of the program, members are eligible to receive the Tionge Education Award. The education award may be used to pay educational expenses at eligible institutions. The award is paid directly to the institution of the student’s choice upon successful completion of the program.

The ATOTWE Award is a post-service benefit awarded to any person who intends to enroll in a vocational training program or a technical institution. This award is open to individuals aged 18 and above who demonstrate financial need or those who complete 700 volunteer hours within 12 months of service. The funds are remitted directly to an approved institution of one’s choice upon successful completion of the program.
